Nursing Pads
Breast pads are absorbent liners that are placed inside your bra to prevent milk leakage from staining your clothing. A wet patch on your top can be embarrassing for an unaware first-time mum.
Leaking is more common in the early days of breastfeeding when your milk comes in.
What to Look for in a Breast Pad?
- Absorbency
Our nursing pads have a moisture-wicking bamboo layer that is soft next to your skin with a microfiber core that is ultra-absorbent.
For night-time, look for a thicker multi-layered breast pad to stay drier throughout the night.
- Bamboo
Bamboo by nature is anti-bacterial and thermo-regulating making a soft layer against your skin for quick absorption
- Washable
Better for the environment than disposable pads as you are not throwing multiple pads away each day.
When Should I Change the Breast Pad?
Nursing pads are designed to draw moisture away from the skin so as soon as you start to feel any wetness that indicates they should be replaced with a new one.
How Often Should I Change Nursing Pads?
When your milk supply stabilises you will probably only need to change them a couple of times a day – one for day and another for night. If you experience heavy leakage you may need to change them up to 5 times a day.
