Entry is only open to Queen Bee newsletter subscribers who are 18 years of age and over. Employees and their immediate families of Queen Bee are not eligible to enter.

The birth is only one aspect of the whole situation and over relatively quickly in the scheme of things. You will be a mama forever more after you birth your precious one. Focus some of your pregnancy energy into your parenting style rather than just birth or the kind of buggy to buy.

If you think you would like to breastfeed, find out as much as you can eg La Leche League etc. Even though BF is the most natural thing in the world, it is not always easy and many people give up with out the right support.

If you want to have a natural birth... Know your stuff and seek heaps of support to avoid UNNECESSARY interventions by the medical profession. Most of the medical profession are not trained to trust the natural process of birth and have not experienced normal physiologic birth.

If you want a natural birth, don't leave it to chance. Our modern world with all our sitting and driving does not support optimal position of baby in utero. Prepare your body and mind and help baby into optimal position with loads of SPINNING BABIES techniques and info

Focus on your breathing during labour, it's difficult but it most certainly helps. When the midwife advices you to breathe through some of the pushing, listen. If she/he tells you little pushes, listen. This will reduce the chances of you tearing. Do what you instinctively feel is ok for your bubs. Some midwives will tell you what they've read, others will tell you what they believe but a mother with experience will tell you what she knows.

When you’re planning your maternity wardrobe- think ahead to nursing clothes and also consider if there will be a change in season. You don’t want to get home from the hospital with your gorgeous bub and feel like you have nothing to wear to breast feed in, or to sweat through the first hot spring day because you only have winter clothes!
