Philippines Devastated by Typhoon Haiyan

We have all seen over the past week the devastation across the Philippines following one of the deadliest Typhoons to hit the region.
Communities have been completely destroyed to piles of rubble with an estimated 10,000 people killed and 9 million people affected across 41 provinces.
While the generosity around the world has seen offerings of shoes, clothes & teddy bears for the kids, aid agencies have advised that it takes time to sort & send these items. The communities destroyed in the Philippines need our help now with basic items such as food, water and sanitation items.
We at Queen Bee have today donated $350 to assist World Vision to buy food & water for these communities devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.
If you too would like to donate and help the communities in the Philippines, you can do so through the World Vision website.

This is what World Vision are currently doing.
At the moment we are distributing supplies to around 900 families (approx. 4,500 people) in Tabugon including:
• Hygiene Kits: toothpaste, toothbrush, sanitary items, hand towels, razors, bath soap, laundry soap, underwear, nail clippers
• Relief Item Kits: blankets (x2 per family), mosquito nets, plastic mats, can openers
• Food Kit: canned goods (ie sardines), biscuits, beans, cooking oil, water, brown sugar
Shelter kits and Child Friendly Space kits are being flown in from World Vision relief warehouses, and we are establishing Child Friendly Spaces to provide children with a safe space to play, receive assistance and other forms of psychosocial support. World Vision is also establishing Women and Infant Friendly Spaces to provide a supportive space for women and their children.
