Pope Francis Encourages Breastfeeding in the Sistine Chapel TweetPin It Posted on 18/01/2015 in Motherhood & Newsfeed (images news.va) Last weekend, Pope Francis baptised 33 children at the Sistine Chapel during the Feast of Baptism of Our Lord. The feast day commemorates the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. In his homily, Pope Francis stated “You, mothers, give you children milk – and even now, if they cry with hunger, feel free to feed them.” Apparently, the written sermon had “give them milk” but Pope Francis spoke the Italian term “allattateli” which means “breastfeed them”.
