Meet Besties Chloe and Jaimee from Bella Buttercup

Bella Buttercup was created by two best friends who decided to combine their love of beautiful things with the determination to build a successful brand. Both Chloe and Jaimee have studied a design degree and love putting this to use within the Bella Buttercup collections. Chloe's little girl Eva is 9 months old and is Bella's style muse, often inspiring new design ideas and collections.

What is the inspiration behind your latest collection?

The 'sorbet' collection is inspired by the colourful gelato stores of Italy. Soft sorbet tones are used within the collection and the baby bundles are named after sweet treats such as 'peppermint iced latte' or 'peaches and pink lemonade'.

Where do you get your photoshoot styling inspiration from?

We are inspired by many things, from vintage fairs to afternoon tea's and summer garden parties. We love to incorporate these ideas into our photo shoots and had a lot of fun with our photography for the sorbet collection. We put together gorgeous settings such as an old fashioned lemonade stand and a tea party complete with china cups dripping with sorbet gelato.

What's next for the brand?

Bella is currently working on some exciting new products to add to the collection and is looking forward to launching these mid year, watch this space.

What is your favourite indulgence?

Living along the bay in Melbourne we love a long morning walk along the beachfront. Many a business meeting is done whilst wandering along here, coffee in hand, taking inspiration from the gorgeous surroundings. We also love to frequent vintage fairs to find hidden gems wether it be clothes, jewellery or antique furniture.

What is your style philosophy?

Bella believes everything in life should be beautiful and style should not be compromised by the everyday necessities that can sometimes get in the way. That's why we created the baby bundle, a stylish fold up changing package that looks beautiful and is practical for mothers on the go too.

What one thing do you wish you knew before you began your business?

Not so much something we wish we knew before, but more something we have come to realise.

Don't forget to stop and smell the roses, enjoy the beautiful journey along the way. Sometimes as best friends and business partners we have to stop and remind each other just how far we have come. Our friendship has only blossomed in the 2 years since Bella Buttercup was founded, we are so lucky to have each other to share in both the challenging and the exciting times.
